About the Course:
The needs of people in housing need who use drugs has risen up the agenda as Housing First and Covid have highlighted the importance of securing housing before addressing other issues such as drug use. This means organisations need to be more prepared than ever to work inclusively with residents who may be using drugs. This course looks at the legal and practical issues this can present.
The course includes:
- legal framework governing drugs
- Section 8 and the rules around use and supply on site
- lessons from “Wintercomfort”
- managing key issues legally and safely
- use, supply, possession and intoxication
- storing medication
- overdose
- key issues in writing a good policy
