Level 3 Qualification – Supervising First Aid for Mental Health

This Ofqual regulated, level 3 two day course is aimed at managers, supervisors, leaders, teachers or anyone with an interest in mental health. Learners will cover the full syllabus of the mental health awareness and first aid courses, and will also gain a deep understanding of a wider range of mental health conditions and the professional treatments available. They will also understand the basics of introducing a positive mental health culture within a workplace or setting, and know how to provide support for things such as stress.
Course content:
What is first aid for mental health?
Identifying mental health conditions (including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, self-harm, eating disorders, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia and anxiety)
Stress
Drugs and alcohol
Suicide
Providing advice and starting a conversation
Mental health first aid action plan
Mental health first aid in the workplace
Managing anger and building self-esteem
The course is FREE to attend: refreshments and lunch are provided. free parking on site.
The Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (England, Wales, Northern Ireland RQF level 3 / Scotland SCQF level 6) does not expire, however regular refresher training is recommended. The course consists of 12 contact hours, including of practical and theoretical activities.
